He Seemed a Little Sheepish

So, I was on the phone with Paul and Riley was hanging around, acting like he had something to say. I got off the phone and he pulled this out of his pants:



Yes, it's his first speeding ticket....a little over a month after he got his license. He was going 50 in a 40MPH zone. The problem I have, though, is that the road he was traveling on has 45 MPH signs posted along most of it. There is one small stretch that has a 40 MPH speed limit and *I* didn't even know about it! I go 50 on that road all of the time!

Poor Riley. He said, "I'm never speeding again because that was scary!" I remember getting my first and only speeding ticket when I was 18 years old. It was early in the morning, so I wasn't looking all that great. So, I wasn't able to do the cutesy flirting that gets young girls out of speeding tickets (Not that I've ever tried to manipulate a police officer in that way before!). I was going 36 in a 30MPH zone. I mean, puh-leeze. It's not like I was really speeding! I did get the ticket though and it was the last ticket I've ever gotten (hold on while I go knock on wood). So, let's hope that Riley has learned his lesson as well because the cutesy flirting thing just doesn't work with boys (Not that I would know whether it works with girls because I've never manipulated an officer of the law in that way before.).
