Happy Halloween!

We had guests for our Halloween festivities this year. Paul's parents came to visit us. We just love when family comes to visit. Jack was a little naughtier than usual, but we still had a good time.

Reeve and Riley both had football games on Halloween night, which meant that we wouldn't be able to join our neighborhood for the neighborhood party. It ended up working out because the team Reeve was supposed to play never showed up. I was really disappointed because Reeve never has family at any of his games (except our own family, of course).

The kids did wear their costumes to the game, though, because the cheerleaders planned to pass out candy.

Here is Oscar getting ready to go to the game. Don't you just want to tickle that little chin?

He is a little spider, in case you can't tell. Braedy's costume was a little scarier...

Jack wanted a scary costume this year. When we got to the game, he decided that everyone had candy for him and proceeded to walk up and down the stands saying, "Trick or Treat!" to everyone (rather than just the cheerleaders). Some people did bring candy, so he did get some.

Here are the little goblins sitting with Grandma and Grandpa (and Daddy, too):

Even though the other team didn't show up, the team scrimmaged against each other. So, we did get to see that. Here's Reeve waiting to go in.

Meanwhile, Oscar was being fed candy to keep him from running all over. He wasn't complaining, though.

A little more Trick or Treating...

Meanwhile, Reeve was still playing football.

He hates it when I take his picture on the sidelines. "REEVE!"

Once the scrimmage was over, we were able to get home early enough for some fun and games in the neighborhood. One of the neighbors set up a hayride for the kids. Jack and Oscar had a good time riding.

Another neighbor had a game, "Pin the Nose on the Pumpkin" that the kids all loved playing. Basically, there was a pumpkin nose with velcro that the kids took turns throwing at the big pumpkin. The winner received a big jar of candy. I don't like my kids to eat candy, so I hoped none of them would win. REEVE won the candy jar and has it safely hidden in his room. I don't think he's shared one piece. I'm just glad that Jack didn't win! He can NOT handle candy AT ALL. He just turns into a monster on Halloween and Paul and I vow, every year, that we aren't going to let him eat candy next year.

Here are the kids playing the pumpkin game.

Lou and Francine left today and the house is a little bit lonely. Luckily, there are a lot of us to keep each other company. :)

I didn't get any more pictures because my camera battery died and I haven't unpacked my charger yet. I did take a bunch of video, but realized that the cord to transfer it onto my computer is still packed as well! I ended up buying another charger and battery on eBay for the camera. I just have to be able to keep taking pictures! I don't want to miss a thing!

Oh, and in case anyone is wondering why nobody went to Riley's game, it's because it was 3 hours away. Yikes! He didn't get home until 1:30AM, because they all went out for pizza at Pizza Hut after the game. Can you just imagine the looks on the Pizza Hut employees' faces when that big bus pulled up and a whole football team and cheerleaders got off?
