Dyeing Playsilks

Today, Jack and I dyed a bunch of playsilks. They are an open-ended toy that kids use for dress up or as grass or water while they play with little people toys or for a myriad of other things. I ordered a bunch of white silks and dyed them. I'm planning on doing more colors when I can get to the store again. Being out here in the boonies (sort of) makes it an ordeal to run to the store for a forgotten item.

We followed a tutorial we found online for dyeing with Kool Aid. It was incredibly easy and fun! Here are some pictures of Jack helping me.

Here they are drying in the sun:

Here are the boys playing with them. Braedy's idea was to tie them on sticks, that they found outside, to make flags. They're having a great time as I type!

We're definitely going to do this project again.
